Mike had an exciting morning.  He responded well to verbal commands, and was able to "quite purposefully" show Dr. Brayton (one of Mike's neurosurgeons) two fingers on his right hand.  This is especially pleasing in light of continuing efforts to bring him forward physically, and the stress those efforts can cause.  A drain has been removed which had been in place since Mike's surgery to remove excess fluid build-up in his head.  There is discussion, also, of removing a cranial pressure sensor from Mike's head tomorrow.  Respiratory testing continues, and Mike is doing fine, but the doctors would like to see his numbers improve.  So, pray for pulmonary (lung) function and strength.

Kim, Mike's nurse, commented today that it does appear that Mike responds better to a deeper (perhaps louder) voice at his neurological tests.  (Michelle has always said you have to yell at him to get him to do anything.)

In other news, internal cranial pressure and profusion pressure (like brain blood pressure) are "perfect"  (which is why the drain has been removed and the sensor could be removed soon).

Basically, it looks like Mike is progressing well physically, and that he is (we can now see) holding his ground neurologically, demonstrating again that he can purposefully respond to audible commands.  We're so proud of him!

There is cause to be encouraged and inspired!  The Lord is at work, and He is faithful to his promises.  Matt 18:19.

I just want to thank you so much for the frequent updates. We think of “Z” often and it means so much to us to be able to know how he is progressing and for which things we should specificallly pray for. We are praying for a miracle in Mike’s healing…we pray every day.

So thrilled as we begin this time of prayer, which will be praise as well as prayer for continual healing. I had to laugh at the “yelling” part. We are praying for you all. Love, Gail, Phil and the Northern Division.

PRAISE GOD for these encouraging reports on this day of concentrated prayer for Mike, Michelle, et al. I have to share that I started my day praying for the “Z” family and everyone surrounding them. I then was to travel from southern California back to Chicago for what is normally about a 5 hour trip. 15 hours later I arrived home. The beautiful part upon my arrival at O’Hare was that I saw a YL tag on a piece on lugguage at the claim area. I followed the lugguage to a group of great looking kids and introduced myself. They were college kids overnighting in Chicago from Malibu enroute to Timberwolf for work weeks. I asked if they had heard about MIke, one of our Chicagoland area directors and RIGHT AWAY they said they get daily updates and prayer requests from their staffs!! So Mike and Michelle just want to let you know that Washington State and Oregon YL are praying for you!! As I sat on a plane with mechanical problems I shared MIke’s story with Bucky Waters (Duke b-ball coach a number of years ago) and he shared with me Joshua 1:9 speaking it from his heart . . Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. AMEN.

Both Lynn & I are praying for your whole family. Rec’d golf marathon packet today…I’ve been praying that people would step up for this as I know Mike is really the one who has carried this in the past.
Thanks for the updates – we check each night as we lift you up in prayer.

So grateful to join the chorus of requests on Mike and the family’s behalf! Rejoicing w/you over the progress so far and looking forward to glorious reports of His goodness bestowed on all the Zegarski’s!

I went through something similar w/my brother & his family 4 years ago @ Christmas. God outdid Himself for us that year and doubled His indescribable gift! May that be true for Mike, Michelle & their little one!

What a privilege to pray for Mike tonight. I had an awesomely intense time of prayer. It is 3:30 am and I am so energized I can’t even sleep. The hollowing winds around Naperville right now remind me of the work, and the power of the Holy Spirit. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow Mike all the days of his life.

Yours in Christ, for God’s glory!

Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits – who forgives all your sins, and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagles. Psalm 103:2-5.

What a privilege to join with our brothers and sisters in Christ to pray for Mike this early morning. We know that these prayers are precious to our Father as they have been brought to Him by the angels surrounding His throne as though they are incense in golden bowls. (Revelation 5:8) May our prayers be a pleasing aroma to you, Lord, and may you receive glory and honor and praise. Amen!

WOW ! What blessing it is to see the body rise up in prayer and praise to our good and gracious God! Our faith is alive, our God and Savior is alive and active in our lives in every moment of every day. Let us never forget thet everything in the universe is under the control of our all powerful God and nothing is outside of his good plan for us. The prayers that are being raised to Him are like a fragrant incense rising up to heaven and we know that He is smiling on the faithfulness of his children. Thank all of you for inspiring our faith to trust in Him alone. Our prayers are with you michelle and we know that God will bring all things to good for those who love Him! In His Love/Kurt, Patrice, Karla, Michelle, Erika, and Kelly.

To me this is amazing all of the love and support the body of Christ is showering on the zegarski’s. I guess I have never seen anything like this in this magnitude before. God is teaching me something great through this and is drawing me nearer to himself. I am sure there are many others God is growing through all that has happened. HE is recieving much glory and honor and praise! Thanks to each one of you for your part in this outpouring of love and prayer. God has used it in my life. Even though all the glory goes to GOD, thanks with all my heart and soul for living for HIM in the hard times.

WIth gratitude to God and His people
