i know my lack of postings is shameful.  it really has been mostly ho-hum lately.  when our life is usually marked by large experiences the normal seems not noteworthy.  these last few months of summer after getting out of therapy have been just mostly normal.  but i am so glad to enjoy normal.  and mike does seem to do well with some time for normal.  i actually think his speech has gotten better since stopping hs outpatient marianjoy therapy.  his responses are faster and usually clearer and even a bit louder than the spring.  public settings are still not his best for showing off because of the extra noise but those able to stop by and speak in person are always surprised and excited.  he is in his stander for about an hour every day with no problem.  we re trying to get mike to set his head on some reasonable goals to work on with a degree of focus.  mckaela is enjoying kindergarten by simply taking it in stride–no big deal to her.  eli sometimes fights her to hold her backpack but he isn’t feeling too jealous.  he is almost 3 and in mike’s words, they are both “ridiculously cute”.  so thanks for the ho-hum, the busy goodness that keeps us occupied.  pray for goals and such consistent improvement as we have been enjoying.  in Christ, michelle

My thoughts and prayers are consistently with you and your family. I don’t have the same situation but deal with many of the same issues with my father. His drop foot, levels of baclofen and time in a stander, which my dad calls a stretcher, are all a part of everyday life. Hang on to Jesus’ hand for the ride whether smooth or bumpy.

Ho Hum is really a pretty nice place. I don’t always enjoy it or thank God for it as much as I should. I’m glad you are there!

    In Him,

Praise the Lord for some mundaneness….I always figure that no news must be stable news, and what a blessed relief that must be for you. Thankful that the kindergarten girl is taking things in stride….Your little ones ARE ridiculously cute!

    Hey Guys,

Sorry I haven’t come by in awhile. I am not on that side of town in the evenings right now so it can be a little tricky getting over there any other time. Check your calendar to see when the Schmidt Family can invade! We really want to come by and hang out for an evening.

We keep praying daily for you all. May God grant you peace, strength and hope each and every moment of the day! Keep working hard Mike. You can do it!!

    God’s Peace,
    Heather Schmidt

Yeah!! Keep going Mike, you are going to do it. Thankfully you have two cute kids to help keep you laughing and having a good time.
Michelle, thanks be for your messages. The part in the sermon about not worrying is really good. Keep going on in the race.

Hello my friends…my heart is never far away even if I am terrible at visiting….Anxious to hear more about the stop at the Zegarskie’s for fall fest…what an amazing idea for you to share about your journedy and faithfulness for the past 30 months….I am humbled by your perseverance and faithfulness as you continue to live your life. Love to all four of you.
