just a tiny update. mike was still pretty much asleep yesterday. i am going in to see him as some friends take our kids to see the light parade but the nurse that answered my call said that he is able to be awake today for about 15 minutes at a time and that he is verbalizing words today. he said he had a headache and his leg hurt. i can’t imagine why his leg would hurt since it hasn’t hurt in a month but it is what it is. we go day by day. that is all we have for today. thanks for keeping us in prayer even when we operate in a bit of a blur. and thanks for the comments. they keep us company even when we don’t have people at our side. peace, michelle

Michele, I am so sorry for this latest surprise. Your resilience continues to amaze me. God can be trusted and He certainly seems to be all you can really trust and depend on right now. I am praying that you will trust Him for today without worry or concern. I pray that you are aware of God’s love and provision during this season of thanksgiving. Thank you for taking the time to share honestly what is going on and for your continued faithfulness. Gwen

    Hey Michelle,

Mike was sleeping peacefully yesterday when I saw him (about 11 am). I just stayed long enough to pray over him, give thanks for our friendship, and to try to let him know how much he is loved and admired. Because Luke has had his share of siezures, I have a sense of the pain you had watching Mike. Maybe that’s part of why I feel so deeply sad about this side trip. If it’s OK with you, I’ll shed a few more tears on your behalf.

Counting on God to catch our tears in a bottle,

    Hi Michele!
Finally catching up on my e-mails after a whirlwind of birthdays and Thanksgiving.
We have five family birthdays in the last week of November; a little for everyone on turkey day, but something else on the day itself.
Today the adult children and Marty and I took our youngest to dinner to celebrate his birthday. He chose Iron Chef (a Japanese-type restaurant). It was great; too much food (just like Thanksgiving). Tomorrow I will be rolling down the aisle for communion (just kidding – but oooooooooh, so much food)!!!
The end of extra activities is tomorrow when I return Christy to the airport to return to Savannah.
Then, back to business (and maybe time for an ice cream with Jill?)?
God bless you Michele. You and Mike are having quite a time. Thank goodness for your little ones. I’m sure they bring you so much joy and gladness: very uplifting!
