i had a cranky day–just a little too busy, too many people in one day, no real or legitimate reason to be cranky.  although i don’t grudge myself a pointlessly cranky day, as long as i don’t let it take over.  but as i snapped at our kids to stop being SO loud and admitted to mike as i tried to hear his soft mumbling sentence, “michael, i am losing it,” he made himself heard.  he said, “let me kiss you.”  so i did and he passed on some patience to tide me over a few more deafening minutes of small children’s play.  just a stunning, yet simple moment orchestrated by a God who knows our needs.

mike is having some therapists visit and will continue to have that over the next few weeks as they assess goals and progress and pass on more training to don and i to continue to use as we care for mike.  mike has been more comfortable painwise than usual but he does have some pain as before.  but where he would cry out incessantly before, he is more easily and quickly relieved at this point.  please pray for this same level of relief to continue.  his head looks fabulous when i pull off the bandages to clean the site.  they did a remarkable job.  it really does make you stare and admire.  so good busy days make it hard to get updates up.  but we do continue to rely on prayer so thank you, michelle

    michelle,
if anyone deserves to have a cranky day, it’s you. I have many with fewer reasons. Mikebeing able to comfort you is a wonderful, heartwarming picture to for me.
We are ecstatic Mike is home again and can’t wait to see his beautiful, “hard head”. We will continue to pray for no infections, and hopefully some quality home therapy.
Kisses to all! We love you
    Kathy

    Michellle,

I am grateful for your openness and willignmess to say that you are truly “human”…With the pressure on your shoulders, it is truly God’s hand that guides you. I am so glad that He gave Mike words for you, right at that point….and it brings tears to my eyes to know that he articulated that to you…I pray it will hold you up for a time and that God will send more arrows of hope your way.

    Love,

    Emily

    Hi Michelle,
What a wonderful “kiss”! For Mike to be able to voice and act on, for you to connect with Mike, and for God to be there amongst you!!
Have a good weekend with the Big Z’s and here’s more prayers coming your way for all of you. So happy to hear that Mike’s pain is lessening.

    Dear Michelle and Michael:

I have not been keeping up with the blog, nor praying as consistantly as I was – sorry. But I am continually amazed at what the Lord is doing in your lives. God’s provision appears to be lacking so many times and yet it is so clearly evident at every turn. I am so grateful that you see it – even the small things….The “how long are we going to watch TV” and the “let me kiss you”….they show how much Mike is there (way to go, stud!), they show the determination and they show God’s grace!

I will be in Chicago May 18-20. I will come visit. I need to find out how to get to your home. Hang in there!

    Love,

    Steve

Michelle-your heart felt shaing continues to both amaze and encourage each of us. Your love for Mike and Mike’s love for you exhibited in his sensitivity to your “cranky” day show that the love you share transcends the trials you are going through. WHAT A SPECIAL GIFT!! I want to share a passage of scripture shared in church today: 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 “May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who loved us and by His grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word” May it be so. In His love, Debbie
