i cannot imagine a smoother day.  surgery took just a few hours and finished early.  our neurosurgeon said everything went just as it should.  mike is in the ICU tonight.  he is very sleepy but wakes up in pain every other hour and is given some morphine.  i have been so surprised at his alertness and responsiveness.  i expected a setback but he answered questions about the source of pain.  and then fell back asleep easily with the medication.  he is expected to be in the hospital for 3 days.  visitors are welcome–i am not sure he will stay in the ICU or get bumped to a stepdown unit.  visitors can ask at the info desk.  every moment today has been in God’s hands… tomorrow too!  amen!

Praise God! What wonderful news. There is so much to be thankful for.

“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has gone, the new has come!” – 2 Corinthians 5:17

How amazing to watch as God makes Mike new with each blessing of progress. How perfect that as he makes our world new through Spring, he is making Mike new through surgeries, therapy and hope! Thanks for sharing with us every step of the way.

Praise the Lord for the smoothness of the day. He is faithful all the time. We will continue to pray. Chad audibly shared his praise to God by saying wow when he read Mikes response to the concert. Excited about the progress since the last time we visited.

So very thankful that all went smoothly…and that he is responding verbally…..Praying that this inadvertantly makes a big difference for communication….Praying for your rest, too.

I can’t tell you how many times I think of you all! Michelle, I want to talk to you soon, but I’ll wait a bit before I call. Always love our chats. I pray for many things for you, Mike, McKaela and Eli–sometimes so numerous that I am just incredibly thankful God knows my heart inside and out! Will still prays for you all every night, too. Love you!

Here’s hoping the floors at your house are done and Mike is headed home to enjoy this glorious spring weather. Praise God for smooth surgery. Petitions now for complete recovery from the surgery, less pain and continued progress with speech and muscle tone. To God be the Glory. Love to all, Debbie
