my mom was saying good night to mike tonight while i was finishing up his meds and he says “good night”.  all 3 of us grinned (that might be a bit of a mirage with mike but he seemed to muster a slight grin).  i do not get why he says nothing for so long to something so clear.  he went on to “talk” to me a bit answering questions with his classic “sure”, a “pretty much”, and something longwinded i didn’t catch.  i offered to call a brother to say hello and he said he would save it for later.  we ended with i love yous.  and now i head up to sleep, smiling.  pray for continued speech.  and continued health.  joy,   michelle

    Hey Michelle,
I couldn’t help but laugh at your account of Mike just blurting out “good night” after not talking for so long. That’s great to hear. Tell Mike I say hello and feel free to let him know that I’m pretty sure that Iowa is going to make a run at his Buckeyes in the Big Ten basketball Tourney in couple weeks. Thanks for writing!!! My prayers your way, as always.

An exchange of “I love yous” says it all. How wonderfully special, just like each of you.

That’s so awesome! Mikayla has really expressed for us to pray specifically for Mike to be able to talk again, so that is what our nightly prayer has been this past week!! I can’t wait to tell her this good news.

We will continue to pray for continued speech and many more blessings. Thanks for sharing Michelle.

    Love,
    Karin

Michelle, love truly can be felt in so many ways. Thank you God. I too am going to pray specifically for communication, three-dimensional sounds good.

Your honest faith is so powerful.

Wow….precious to hear those words I am sure…and precious that you shared it with us….Thank you Lord for glimpses of our Mike who is STILL there with us. Wouldn’t it be awesome if the frozen words in his soul will thaw as we head into March???

Please Lord hear our plea! Love to you ALL.

    Michelle,

Yea….Praise God for His continual blessings. He is truly hearing the prayers of His faithful.

You, Michelle, are truly our treasure.

We are so happy to hear Mike is starting to talk with you. He always does things in a surprising way! It must have sounded sweet to your ears. So glad for both of you. Dad says “Now you need to get McKaela to play the “alphabet game” with big Daddy. How else can we get him to practice his speech. Your right , I am a sneaky old man, but he will respond to the game when McKaela plays it with him. He won’t do it for anyone else!.”

Kiss McKaela and Eli for us. We are hoping to see you all very soon.
    Love,
    Mom and Dadl

    Psalm 30:11-12

I’m not sure if anyone has had a dream that included Mike, but I did last night. In my dream, I stopped by the house to say hello and Mike was standing on crutches, just getting into a car. He looked at me kind of funny for a second as if he didn’t recognize me for a moment, then he broke into his patented smile and we talked back and forth.

I’m not sure that my dream means anything other than I ate too many nachos at bedtime, but I woke up feeling so good about Mike. Maybe it’s that the Z family is on my heart and mind more than I realize.

But I’m looking forward to seeing that dream played out for real. That is my prayer for today.

OK, since we’re sharing dreams! I had a dream about Mike last week. I was standing in Mike& Michelle’s kitchen and Mike came bounding up the basement stairs taking two steps at a time. He was wearing a red short sleeved t-shirt and jeans. He was a bit thinner than usual but laughing about something.

You are all priviliged. I have not told anyone about this dream, and by the way, I am blessed that you all are praying so diligently for Mike’s recovery.

    Love to all, Mike’s Mom
