Mike remains at Edward for now.  He still has a fever, though it is unclear what the cause is.  Apparently, it could either be an infection or a drug reaction.  In any case, Mike seemed comfortable today, and he was fairly alert during an evening visit.  He is in Room 408, and visitors are welcome, as always.

Have a happy and safe New Year’s celebration.  God bless.

Praying for you all daily that God would meet you wherever you are. May you continue to see evidences of His providence in whatever the day brings you.

    Happy New Year!

It was so good to see y’all. We had a great time catching up and sharing old stories. Matt took some fun pictures of Eli and Emma. Thanks again for letting Emma sleep in Eli’s crib!

We are continually in prayer and checking the website for updates.

    Isaiah 40:11
The Lord tends his flock like a shepard:
He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.

    We love y’all!

    Hello Michelle and Mike:

So, Mike has been put back on the IR (injured reserve) list. He has been there before. We all don’t know why the Coach has allowed Mike to go from his starting position on the All-Family and Young Life teams to the IR. But we do know the Coach and we know that He loves Mike and us so very much. We just don’t know why there was a switch in positions on the Team and we don’t know when Mike will return to his starting positions.

SO, the New Year, begins with some discouragement and some lingering doubts. Food for the Evil One. The Coach has given you, Mike, a strong determination to work through these setbacks and strive for returning to the starting line up. Keep pushing, pushing hard every day!

The Coach has given you, Michelle, an unbelievable faith and strength that is carrying you, Mike, your kids and the rest of us through this season of disappointment and uncertainty. Michelle, continue to stand!

    1 Cor 16:13-14

13 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men and women of courage; be strong. 14 Do everything in love.

    Eph 6:10-18

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand . 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

And we, Michelle and Mike, are standing with you. We, too, need to put on the full armor of God and to stand. And we are and we will. Stand firm! Remember that we love you imperfectly, but the Coach loves you perfectly and wants the BEST for you. I often don’t understand the Coach and why He does what He does and why He allows what He allows. But I do KNOW beyond a shadow of doubt that He wants the VERY BEST for us.

    Rest in His LOVE,
