the first prognosis for mike is he has a bladder infection which caused the temp which necessitates some new antibiotics and a few more days in the hospital.  but this afternoon he experienced another high fever and some of his feedings came out when they suctioned him.  so they gave him a new trach with an inflated cuff (which he has had before) and are keeping him on oxygen and checking on whether he has some kind of digestive system blockage or something that sounded like an “isis?”.  he is very out of it and wiped and sick.  it definitely felt discouraging visiting him today with no responsiveness.  but i listened to a song a friend of ours wrote about mike early on in this struggle on the way home from the hospital.  the theme is a prayer for the Redeemer to redeem.  and it drew me back to the source of all hope and encouragement, “the anchor for our souls”.  i ache anew for michael’s frailty today.  and i hold onto the savior, for me and him.  amen,  michelle

    Hello Michelle:

Here is the word I received for you today:

    II Cor. 4:

7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 10 We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.

Treasure of Mike in earthen vessel? YES, a little cracked right now.
Treasure of Michelle in earthen vessel? Yes, unbelievably faithful and beautiful!
    Hard pressed – YES!
    Crushed? NO!
    Perplexed? YES!
    In dispair? NO!
Persecuted (by the evil one)? YES!
    Abandoned? NO WAY!
    (Hope) Strucked down? YES!
    (Hope) Destroyed? NEVER!
    Jesus revealed in Mike? ALWAYS!
    Jesus revealed in Michelle? PRICELESS!

Stay the course! Hold your ground! You are not alone, though I am sure you feel like that alot. Yell if you need to! Cry if it helps. Hold on to the truth. Chose to follow. Rest in His arms. Boldly defy the evil one!

Standing with you, Mike and the children with Love,

You are truly an inspiration to everyone. Your undying faith is an example I can only strive to live up to. My prayers are with you, Mike, and the family every night, and I hope that God brings good your way, because you truly deserve it. Thank you so much for showing me a truly good person in this world. You are amazing!!

    God Bless

I’m sorry to hear about Mike being at Edwards. I hope that it is just a short stay and that you can get him back home. I’m also sorry that I didn’t get a chance to say good bye to the two of you and wish you luck. I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed working with Mike at Marianjoy, and that I wish you, Mike, and your family the best of luck.

Woof! How discouraging! Just know that we are in prayer for you daily. And I fully feel your comment about human frailty – we all are an inch away from the ICU. Not realizing it is how many cope with our truly fragile bodies. I’m glad I’m our futures do not rest upon the strength of these collections of dust we walk around in each day.

    Looking to a bright future,

It’s been a while since I’ve sent a note but wanted you to know I am still checking the site daily and blanketing you and Mike in prayer, especially in the late night hours while most are asleep (Perhaps I have found a purpose in these crazy retail hours I”m scheduled!).
