mike is supposed to be heading back to marianjoy in wheaton this thursday… a tentative hip hip hooray!  i am always a little hesitant to count on something before it happens.  he is doing well.  he still seems hit or miss on catching him alert or sleepy.  one friend visiting yesterday reported in that he laughed at a joke.  and i was impressed and surprised when he laughed at a story i told him about one of mckaela’s temper tantrums.  apparently her disobedience is a lot funnier when you aren’t actually there.  especially when it involves a bathtub and a birthday suit.  he is still limited in facial expressions so laughter is pretty refreshing to see.

keep in prayer–staying infection-free, continued progress in all of his therapies, continued minimal spasticity in his limbs/extremities, and the least amount of his ankles turning in as possible.  also, sorry i don’t know how to transfer pics from my phone which happen to be what i have taken recent photos of mike and kids with.  if i figure it out i will let you see…  in joy,    michelle

Wanting you to know that we are thinking of you and continue to pray for infection free days and more laughter! May the temper tantrums be funny for you one day too! As I too am all familiar with them. here’s something I thought you might enjoy from the author of the Purpose Driven Life.

    Happy moments, PRAISE GOD.
    Difficult moments, SEEK GOD.
    Quiet moments, WORSHIP GOD.
    Painful moments, TRUST GOD.
    Every moment, THANK GOD.

    Sending Smiles,
    Leah

Great news about Marianjoy, Michelle. I had dreams about Mike much of last night, dreams which seemed to be looking into the future–he was in rehab but strikingly very mobile and verbal and strong. It was a refreshing look at what so many are praying will soon be reality. May it be so.

    Michelle,
It was great to see you, even briefly, on Sunday. God brought MIke, you and the kids to mind today. I am joining you as you pray that GOd would protect MIke from infection, that he would make great strides in therapy, that the two of you could continue to laugh together, and that there would be a supernatural peace and joy in this journey.

    With great affection for you,
    Kim

    Mike,
I enjoyed seeing you today! What an encouragement you are to me. Way to go with talking and lifting your arms, I can’t imagine what determination, strength and energy every movement requires for you. Just wanted to let you know how proud I am of you! Hopefully the next time I see you, you’ll be at Marion Joy!!

    Thank God!
It’s so great to read good news about Mike. I pray that he continues on this upward path. You, Michelle, are incredible. And you are right- children’s behavior is SO MUCH MORE FUNNY from a distance!! Thank you so much for keeping this journal. There are so many people that ask about Mike and are praying for him and your family.
    Take care,
    Karyl

Michelle, You are so good about keeping up with the website! I have not left many comments, but want you to know I have been praying for your family to be one and home, again. Too bad Mike got another fever, but that is not unusual. It’s just that you want them to stop so Mike can keep progressing to get better!!!!!!
    God bless, db
