Mike has been doing great this week according to his therapists. I gauge how i should feel based on their enthusiasm and they were feeling pretty excited. For some reason that fever is hanging in there and they are still treating him only with tylenol. surely by the grace of prayer it has not inhibited any of his therapy time. please continue to pray for mike’s protection from this annoying infection. but likewise, be encouraged, his progress is great.

    Hi Michelle,

Wanted you to know that Brett and I got to go see Mike this week before Brett goes back to school on Sunday. I am kind of liking that beard!! It was so good to see Mike again and I wanted to share something I noticed that I consider very special. Brett had been standing by my side towards the end of the bed while I talked to Mike. Mike had been sleeping (it appeared) when we entered the room but we went ahead and spoke to him anyway as was recommended. Mike’s eyes had remained closed or nearly closed for most of my conversation. Then I thanked Mike for all of the Bible Study Monday nights he had shared with Brett for 3 years and how much that meant. I gave a laugh and told Mike he really has way more than his own two kids, maybe hundreds of kids that love him for what he has given of himself for the Lord. I stepped aside so that Brett could talk to him. It was then that Mike opened his eyes VERY wide, with great effort consciously being given, to stare right into Brett’s eyes. Though this man of yours, Michelle, has a weak and feeble body right now, his heart is still so strong, and he still has such a heart for all of his kids. I cannot really convey with words what I saw in that moment of time except to say that Mike’s spirit is alive and well.
Our daily prayers for Mike and all of you will continue. God knows about each and every need, especially those unspoken. Much love- Sharon and family

As always I am in awe of what God has done through Mike. EAch day, as I keep writing, is a miracle. I hope that I can get over and see Mike this week. I will keep praying for Mike and Michelle. It is exciting to read what is going on with Mike.

“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1Thessalonians 5:16-18.

    God Bless you all!

    Love and prayers,
    Heather and family

Mike, I’m sooooo happy you are doing better. You know, they say “you can’t keep a good guy down.” Keep up the good work!!!

It’s hard hearing the encouragements to go visit Mike as I feel I took for granted those opportunities while Matt and I were still there. I wish I could go see Mike and take advantage of the chances to share with Mike everything he did for and taught Matt and I during our time in Naperville. I guess I will have to rely on you, Michelle, to continually thank Mike for us and tell him that we miss him (even if working for him was challenging at times). Also, thank you Michelle for the kind card…your words penetrate deep and are very much appreciated. We miss you, Mike and the kids and are looking forward to seeing you in December. Until then, we will continue to pray and thank God for you and Mike.

Wow….a card thanking us for praying for you…You are amazing, Michelle…you may be getting tired of hearing this, but please let these words penetrate your heart and hold you through these turbulent waters. You are precious and valuable in His sight, and in all of those who cover you, Mike and the little bits in our prayers.

    Always sending love your way…..
