yes, hooray, mike is comfortably settled in at Manor Care in Naperville.  Visitors welcome 10 am to 8 pm.  He is sleeping and cannot talk because of his trach.  he is moving very little.  this is a big week so we will need some extra determined prayer cover.  Request #1–mike has been given one week by the insurance company to make some measure of improvement to justify the expense of rehab.  I believe he gets bumped down the ladder to “custodial” care if they cannot document and justify his stay at Manor Care.  Custodial care is private pay.  Pray that Mike would get the most out of where he is.  My hope is for him to do well here and shock us all.

requests #2 and 3–i am leading a cabin of girls on a junior high wyld life trip Tuesday through saturday this week at timberwolf lake in michigan.  mike’s parents, fred and jill, will be with mike all week bearing the burden of responsibility for him.  please pray for this trip of over 50 kids.  pray that God would be glorified and vivid and that kids would be softhearted and responsive.  pray for protection from distraction while we are there.  and PLEASE pray for a stable week for fred and jill here at home.  (last time i left town mike had a seizure, giving all of us a scare).

this is a big week and i am laying it all at God’s feet.  it is too big for me to hold.  but i figure the one who can conquer the grave shouldn’t be too overwhelmed by any detail.  amen.     –michelle

Michelle, thanks again for specific prayer requests. Prayer warriors for the entire “Z” family remain consistent and persistent. May God bless your time at Timberwolf Lake, Fred and Jill’s time with Mike and your children, and Mike’s progress with his new care givers. We serve an awesome and amazing God! I leave you with some words from one of my favorite hymns growing up: ” What a friend we have In Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear, what a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer. O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer. . . . Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care, precious Savior still our refuge, Take it to the Lord in prayer. . . In His arms He’ll take and shield thee, thou wilt find a solace there.” May it be so for you. In His Love, Debbie

Michelle: Linda and I will be praying specifically for Mike’s care and response at Manor Care as well as your trip to Timberwolf. May God richly bless you as you minister to these girls, and may He minister to you as well. “The Lord is on my side, I will not fear.”

    Michelle:
Just wanted you to know that we continue to pray for Mike and your whole family. We check the website all the time and feel so honored to be part of what God is doing in Mike through prayer. It is so clear how God is holding you tightly through all this, and we praise him for that. We will pray for miraculous improvements in Mike this week and a week of matching miracles of grace for you as you love and lead your girls at camp. We plan to see Mike Wednesday evening, so we look forward to that as well.
Much love and peace to you,
    Jen & Ken

    Hey Michelle:

Luke and his dog Puttley and I stopped by yesterday to see Mike. He seemed to track me with his eyes, though he fell back asleep when I talked about the Cubs (who wouldn’t). The Knox Pres pastor and I sang to him (poorly) and read a Psalm (#121, I think) and then we prayed over him (passionately). The experience was too cool to write about–what a blessing.

For anyone who reads this, I hope you’ll go visit Mike. The staff is great and his room is sunny. And don’t miss saying hello to the other residents. You’ll be blessed!

    Michelle,
I can’t wait to see Mike. God is the one in control and He can move mountains. He will move Mike. Prayers go up for him, for you on your trip and for Fred and Jill while they stay at your house. Prayers for peace, comfort, strength and wisdom. God Bless you all. God Bless the caregivers and all watching over Mike and it may sound strange (I don’t think I have ever prayed for an insurance company), prayers for those involved on the insurance side of all of this.

    Love and prayers,
    Heather

thanks for all the updates- I- along with others that don’t leave comments – are praying for you guys regularly. I’ll be praying for your week of camp too Michelle- kinda different from other weeks i’ve prayed for. Praying for all of you to continue to be strengthened by His Spirit, and comforted in His love.

You are surely in my prayers that Mike’s stay will show some progress. Also, I will pray for you and the girls you are leading at Timberwolf Lake. I did Summer Staff there first session in June and I can say they have amazing interns. Even though I heard that Mike was supposed to be camp speaker in June, praise God that Crystal Kirgiss and James Granger were willing to speak during the June weeks. It’s amazing how some people can step up to the place with very short notice.

Just a note of thanks for all your continuing prayer support. Mike is certainly responding as a result. It is evident Jesus is in all of this. I personally have been praying a particular prayer with Mike the last few days. He has an immense devotion to Jesus as you all know. If you would like to join me, I am sharing with you:

May the Sacred Heart of Jesus be adored, glorified, loved and preserved throughout the world now and forever. Sacred Heart of Jesus pray for us. Saint Jude worker of miracles pray for us. Saint Jude, helper of those in need, pray for us.

I have been saying this with Mike nine times daily requesting Mike’s full recovery from Jesus. All miracles are from Him.

love to you all, Mike’s mom and dad

Today I had the privelege of dropping my two children off at a Young Life camp in Michigan. We had to meet their bus there as we were already in Michigan vacationing. As a former young lifer it gave me goose bumps to see the bus unload and be greeted by so many God filled souls. Leading our 50 kids was Michelle, baby in hand, full of energy and grinning from ear to ear. I could do nothing but be awed by how the Spirit filled her and to know that she had left her husband and daughter to be with my kids and others to share her love of Jesus was just an awe inspiring moment for me. I write this to tell Michelle that I am praying for her daily, that her faith has been so awesome to watch and how completely grateful I am to her. Also, to share with all of you who are praying for all the Zegarskis that today I got to see Jesus in Michelle and not only was that awesome but it sure reminded me of the power of prayer–prayer works–keep praying.
