7/19/06 Please Continue to Pray Earnestly

As anticipated, Mike will have a tracheotomy performed today, to protect his vocal cords and to allow that he remain intubated.

Of greater concern, though, is the fact that Mike is still not responding to commands.  (He will sometimes attend to a visitor or to a movie, but he is otherwise unresponsive.)  In his present condition, he cannot meaningfully participate in therapy and he would not benefit from the rehabilitation offered at Marianjoy.  Consequenty, unless we see some improvement during his remaining time at Central DuPage, following the trach, he will not be directly returning to Marianjoy.

The lastest event has proven to be a greater set-back than was originally anticipated, and we find ourselves again wondering about the outlook for Mike’s recovery.

Please pray earnestly that Mike will regain that responsiveness he had at Marianjoy before this infection set in — and please get a renewed prayer request out into your church communities.  This situation has been going on for two weeks, and, for some time now, the infection has been resolved.  The reason for Mike’s ongoing difficulty is unknown.

I will continue to pray for Mike’s recovery! He will certainly overcome this just like he has so many other obstacles!

Know that we miss Mike here at Marianjoy. Everyone is looking forward to his return to rehabilitation. Mike–you continue to be in the prayers and thoughts of your therapists, doctors, and nurses.

Mike, I look forward to working with you again!

    Habakkuk 3: 17-19

“Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.
The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights.”

    Michelle:

Can I cry for you some? You must be so frustrated and tired. I will continue the prayer assault on Heaven for healing and progress, and for comfort for you. It doesn’t seem fair that you amd Mike are going through this, but God says His ways are not the ways of men. So I guess my opinion of fair doesn’t mean much.

    Trusting in Him,

    Matt

Michelle, Our family and the mens bible study on saturday mornings at Immanuel lutheran church continue to be in prayer for you and mike. Patrice stopped to see mike last week(she works at CDH) and stayed and prayed with mike for a while. As I read your messages to us , I am amazed at the grace you exhibit, yet my heart breaks knowing what you are experiencing. We will continue to pray fervently for mike and you and the kids, knowing only that our God is gracious and merciful and He knows things that we cannot fathom that will work for our good. Keep holding on to His promises and please call if you need anything(ie car repair, baby sitting, food, or anything else we can provide) We love you guys and we could never express the richness you have added to our lives and the lives of our 4 daughters. With all our love/Kurt, Patrice, Karla, Michelle, Erika, and Kelly

Know you and Mike are being prayed for right now! I love you dearly, Michelle. Once again, I wish Will and I could be up there with you, McKaela and Eli while Dan visits with Mike this weekend. Being a part of the Zegarski family is a gift I cherish, and knowing you continues to be such a blessing in my life.

    Mike & Michelle,

When I read your updates it breaks my heart to be so far from you… but I know that even if I were there, the only gift I have to give is prayer and that works just as well from Indy. This is my prayer – that God is wrapping his arms around you and the kids and that now, more than ever, you are feeling his warm embrace.

    With love and constant prayers,
    Lisa

    Michelle and Mike ,
You all are on my mind and in my heart all the time. I can’t imagine how tired and frustrated you are. I am constantly reminding myself of James 5:15 which says

“And their prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make them well. And anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven.”

I know you and Mike both have so many people offering prayer on your behalf, so I have to trust and believe God’s word.

    We love you all !!!!!!!

Michelle and family – I constantly check this site for updates and Heather Z. sends prayer requests. I want you to know that I may not know you, but your posts are an inspiration to me. Your grace and amazing faith in the midst of persecution – and that is what it is – an attack on Mike’s body and your faith -are such an example to so many. I have shared your struggle with a bible study group and friends who have been praying and will continue to pray for your family since the very beginning of this. I pray for rest and peace for you. I have two little ones myself and I know how much that requires. May God give you sleep and joy and may you be surrounded by his presence.
    Love and continued prayers –
    Carrie Beth Tigges

Pray is what we will do!

“Then they cried out to the the Lord in their trouble and he brought them out of their distress.” Psalm 107:28

We love you all and pray you will find the Lord’s peace in the midst of these trials. Sending big hugs from far away!

    Love you
    Beth and Dan

Have faith as we all do. Kep praying, belieiving, and knowing that Mike is being held in God’s hands. With each setback there is more room for celebration and prayer for thankfulness. Have faith, keep praying, and hoping for God’s swift answer and his recovery while Mike is being held by our wonderful and loving God.
