YAAAAY!  The trach is out!  Finally!  Always take the time to celebrate.  God's gifts demand recognition!  (And I will further pursue some alternative communication helps with the speech therapists–i had only spoken briefly about that on Thursday with a therapist before our minor debacle.  Thanks for the suggestions!)  Keep praying!       –michelle

Praise The Lord for what He has done in both your lives so far and for what He is YET to do.

Let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unsatble in all his ways.
    James 1:6-8

    hello Michelle and Michael :

This is indeed good news! Michelle, I sense from your note on Thursday that you are a little weary . That is not surprising to me . I know that you have a great support group around you . Make sure you let them support you . You have already proven that you’re a faithful and strong woman . Michael is going to need you for the long haul . Make sure you let others help (more than you can ask or imagine) so that you do not become too weary . Bless you ! Keep working hard, Mike; those Zegarski genes will do you well ! I will continue to pray .

    Steve

    Michelle,
It was great seeing you and Eli today. THat little guy is adorable. Visiting Mike for the first time was hard. I could sense his frustration in not being able to communicate very well, and I worry that this is tearing him up. I am praying that Mike can harness the will power to tackle this mountain. While he had a hard time communicating and showing emotions due to a lack of facial movement, He clearly displayed his emotions-only in very subtle ways. Some of his words were very clear, and I hope that everyone who can get there to talk to him and encourage him to work those throat muscles can get over there to do so. We all know how much Mike likes to talk!!! I wish I were closer to Chicago so that I could spend more time with him and maybe become more familiar with some of his new methods of communication- and witness the return of some of his old methods of communication. I look forward to a return visit next month. I love you guys.

Amazing is all I can say. Seeing Mike today was just amazing. God is amazing. So Mike, here are the verses I wanted to write in your book.

    Isaiah 40:28-31

Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

May God give you wings to soar Mike.
Michelle, May God continue to guide you and give you the strength when you are weary.

    God Bless,
    Heather
