Mike has been somewhat less responsive today, as he has been tested to determine whether a permanent drain (shunt) will be necessary to prevent fluid build-up in his head.  Apparently, this testing involves reducing the operation of the temporary drain, to see if Mike's body can deal with this fluid on its own.  Of course, when fluid collects, responsiveness can be slowed.

A CT scan will be performed tomorrow, following which Mike's neurosurgeons will determine whether a shunt will be installed.  Please pray that they will have a clear indication of what is necessary and best for Mike.

Please pray also for safe travel for Mike's brothers, Tom and Steve, who will be visiting with Mike this weekend.  Thanks.

    Dear Zegarski Family,
I am not sure if these comments help or not but I do not know of any other way to communicate with you. Thank you for the continued updates. I have been to see Mike and hearing what is happening on a daily basis helps.

What an inspiration you all are to me. God is truly working through all of you. May He continue to give you peace and strength. I cannot imagine what this is like on a daily basis. I only know that God never gives you more than you can handle.

My favorite Psalm is Psalm 121.
I lift up my eyes to the hill-where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip- he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you- the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, not the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm- he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

May God continue to watch over all of you and Mike. May God be with the medical staff and give them the wisdom they need to make the right decisions for Mike. May God give you comfort and peace.

    God Bless!

    Love and continued prayers,
    The Schmidt Family

    Dear Michelle and Family,
It is the middle of the night and I woke of and started praying for Mike and all of you. Just remember that God’s Grace is abundant, let it wrap each of you with a pillow of protection. We pray for the Doctor’s for wisdom and for the Nurses that care for Mike each day. Remember that in the black are all the colors! God’s love never leaves us even in our darkest times that is when He carries us.
Thanks for the continuous updates …
    God’s Blessings..
    In His Grip,
    The Stecher’s
