Just a short note to everyone. Mike’s CT scan looked better yesterday than Monday, so no surgery is planned. Mike is completely off of the ventilator now, so that is wonderful. Something to pray about: Mike’s heart rate is elevated, and it is unclear why this is so. A number of tests are being run, but results will take at least 24 hours.

I just wanted to let you know that I’ve been praying for Mike and your family through this ordeal. My niece and nephew are Jennifer and Terence Petoske from Young Life in Chicago and they had passed on your family as a prayer request to us. I have had a huge burden for some reason, to pray for you all even though we don’t know each other. That is not something that usually happens with me, but apparently God has just layed you all on my heart. I am so blessed to read your entry and to see that Mike is making progress each day. Lord Jesus, I pray that you bless Mike and Michelle and their children. Please surround them with your peace, presence and sustaining power.

Please know that Mike, you and the children, and your families are in my prayers. Also, know that the Daughters of the King at
St. John’s and around the Diocese have Mike on their prayer lists.

You are truly amazing and as I read your entries I am in awe of
your great faith. You will be able to handle whatever life deals to you because of that faith.

    Psalm 94:22
“The Lord has become my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge.”

This is a favorite Psalm verse of mine and know that you believe in this one, too.

We are all pleased at Mike’s progress and hope that he will
be able to move to a rehabilitation center soon.

    In Christ’s love,
    Kathy Schultz

Praise God for the healing work He is doing in Mike’s body. His timing is always perfect (in spite of our questions!). We will continue to pray for medical guidance regarding the upcoming tests.
While it has been almost a month since all of this has happened, I am amazed at the progress Mike has made! When I go back and read the beginning blog entries and forward God has truly been with Mike on this journey and healing him in His timing. God is faithful and true–Mike’s journey is evident of that!
Blessings this Easter to you, Mike and the kids.

I was so glad and thank ful to read the latest update on Mike. Hopefully he is gaining some strength back and we are so grateful that he is completely off of the ventilator now. It’s hard to tell how soon he will be in ICU before he can be transferred but by the grace of God, he seems to be taking it day by day. Hopefully his elevated heart rate is a good sign to show that he is fighting as best he can and that is his sign to you and other family members. As always we will continue to pray for you and everyone in your family so that you can keep up your strength and courage to be able to handle what may transpire. Our thoughts and prayers are with you daily. Sincerely Todd

The entire Lansing Young Life family is praying throughout the day today, lifting up the Mike and the Zegarskis in the process. Bless God for saving us through His death on this day, and giving us hope in an eternal future together with Him!!
