We've had some great news today. Mike's angiogram appears to show that he no longer has an AVM or an aneurysm, and that he should not be at risk for future hemhorraging. Put another way, it appears that the surgery corrected the problem which led to Mike's injury.

Mike will need a fairly minor surgical procedure Monday, in order to relieve some fluid build-up in his head. Please pray that this procedure will correct the problem, so that a shunt will not be necessary to allow fluid to drain. This will delay any transfer until late next week at the earliest.

Mike has had less responsiveness over the last couple of days. (He's obviously had a lot going on.) I will post more this weekend from Chicago — gotta get up there. Thanks for checking in.

My family have been praying daily for Michael, Michelle, and the Zegarski family. I have been reading scripture in hopes to lift up my petitions to God for Michael and his family. I would like to share God’s word. –Behold , I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?–Jeremiah 32:27 –Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.—Hebrews 4:16 —The Lord your God himself crosses over before you…He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you. –Deuteronomy 31:3,8–Whenever Iam afraid, I will trust in You. In God I will praise His word, In God I have put my trust;I will not fear. What can flesh do to me—Psalm 56:3-4—Trust in Him at all times, you people;Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. –Psalm 62:8. Do good,O Lord, to those who are good like your servant Michael, who is upright in his heart. Please bring your warm light into the Zegarski’s darkness. Behold you are the one true God and your word proven. Thank you God for the many blessings which you have bestowed. In Jesus Christ We Pray!! AMEN

Hey Michelle! I was in Spain for springbreak and was shocked at the news of Mike that Laura just told me yesterday! We are all praying for you and for Mike’s speedy recovery and I admire your strength through such a difficult time. It shows how much the Lord is really watching over all of you and I’m sure that with this faith it will all be over soon. Keep pulling through and we will keep you in our prayers.
    Thinking of you,

What amazing, wonderful news! I know Mike thru Michelle. My older sister has been friends with Michelle since middle school, so I have seen both of them grow up. I still remember when Michelle had long, long legs and was on the junior high track team!

This website has been a great resource. Whoever writes the updates does a wonderful job — they are gentle, descriptive, uplifting and helpful. To pray for a miracle can be an overwhelming and large thing, but to be able to check in here daily and see what specific things I can pray for (lung function, eye movement, strong immune system, etc.) has been very helpful. It gives me a target and goal that I can aim directly at!

I had a very serious surgery several years ago and it was not until months later that I began to appreciate just how many people prayed for me. Not just family members, but their friends and co-workers, several churches across the country, and people I hadn’t spoken to in a long time. Given Mike’s job and his family’s involvement in the community, I can only imagine that a blanket of prayers is encircling Mike and all who are taking care of him.

I, and more people than Mike and Michelle will ever know, am praying every day. I love to see great news like this!

    Love, Emily Barrett

Praise God from whom all blessings flow! As the prayers go up the blessings come down. Michelle, Mike, families and medical staff-our prayers are never ceasing. I echo the thanks for your updating of the website and keeping the nationwide prayer angels abreast of specific prayer requests. I trust Michelle and the children are healthy and resting well in answer to the prayers of so many who love you. Mike’s procedure on Monday will be uplifted throughout the weekend. Love, Debbie

I graduated with Mike at Moeller. I want to let you know that we’ve spread the word of this fantastic site so that our friends and family can continue to pray for Mike and follow his progress. Michelle, your strong will is so inspiring to our family, and the power of prayer is obvious.
I love the pictures of your family, and I can tell Mike is a great dad. God bless you all.

    “Step by Step”
For the Lord will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being caught. Proverbs 3:26

God is with you, there’s no need to fear. With each step you take, God will be near.

This is from The Little Blessings Everyday, Blessings Every Day book for today.

May the confidence of the Lord be with you every step of the way on this journey. You are in our prayers,
    Chad & Melissa

    Romans 12:12
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”

    2 Corinthians 4: 8-9
“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”

We are confident that God is at work in Mike & healing every cell in his body, while at the same time He is covering all of the Zegarskis with His love & comfort during these difficult days. You are constantly in our prayers & on our hearts~
