Just a quick note to let everyone know that Mike had his best showing of the day, at 6:30 pm.  He showed purposeful response to verbal commands, in his efforts to tighten his grip with his left hand.  He also showed some auditory tracking with his eyes, and he responded to touch by reaching toward the sensation with his right hand (which is better than simpler avoidance-type motions).  He was not able to show two fingers, but it appeared that he was trying to do so.

This was probably Mike's best showing over the last couple days, so it is really great to see.  (And, yes, we did have to yell and carry on a bit, but there's nothing wrong with that!)

If Mike has more to show later, I'll definitely pass it on.  Thanks for "checking in" on Mike.

Mike and Michelle and allllll the family members — I am Tracy Jager’s sister (she works with Mike), and we have been thinking of you all and praying for you down here in Texas! Keep up the good work, and thanks so much for being the witnesses you are, and the glory to God that you give! As Tracy reminds me from time to time, “He is a Good God — all the time.”

Everytime I check my email I pop over to this page to see how Mike is doing. How exciting to see how many people around the country are praying for you all. As I was praying for Mike, tears came to my eyes as I sensed I was joing in so many people bringing you to the feet of Jesus. We will continue to pray for continued healing. I pray that God will continue to amaze Mike’s physicians and they will be drawn to him as well.

I just wanted to touch base and let you know that we are lifting Mike and the family up in prayer. I left Young Life staff in January to take a pastor’s position at my home church and didn’t know anything about Mike’s condition until I had to go to the YL office to confirm camp spots for our area. I just felt led to check the emails and have been in prayer since then! I lifted you up at my church today from the pulpit and will have the info on our prayer calender by tomorrow! Prayer is powerful – please know there will be folks down here doing it!

I have been encouraged by Mike’s improvement and by the prayer support. I am sure that Mike will be as well when he is able to read all your comments, prayers and encouragement. God is faithful and He is healing Mike. Mike and family, you are all in our prayers.

This is the first time in as long as I can remember that I am on the computer often. I have even been leaving it on because I want to see how Mike is healing and all the encouraging comments. As always you are in my thoughts and prayers often. I was reminded at church this morning how powerful our God is when I told a friend I hadn’t talked with and the immediate response was did he die. That he did not was just the first miracle among many so far and among many more to come. Keep fighting and lifting the Zegarski’s up in prayer. Our GOd hears us even when we do not feel like he does. He has promised HE will and IS faithful: “For God is not like man that He should lie nor the son of man that he should change his mind” (sorry I don’t know the address but this verse reminds me that we serve a faithful GOD!!) Michelle and Mike I love you guys and your faith and commitment is so encouraging!

My husband and I are friends of Heather and Dan’s, and please know that we are praying for the entire family during this tough time. I am so pleased to read that there is positive progress, and feel certain that God is hearing our prayers. His plan is always perfect, even when we cannot understand it.

Once again we just wanted to check in from England and find out how Mike and the family are doing. This must be such a trying time and we’re praying for God’s miracles in Mike’s life and for assurance that God is in control. Also for Mike’s extended family, know that I am praying for you all (you might remember as Beth Schwab during Mike’s college years and I did come to stay with your family several times in Cincinnatti.) I hope that you all will know God’s presence in your lives during this time and that each glimpse of hope will be a reminder of God’s hand in this very difficult situation.

To Michelle, McKaela and Eli, hope you all are hanging in there and have a few happy and joyous moments together in the midst of this trial.

    Take care….
