Mike is working very hard, and he continues to strive to respond to verbal commands.  Upon a verbal request, he has been able to tighten his grip on another's hand.  His right hand grip response to that request has been a bit more consistent and a bit stronger than his left.  Mike has also shown that he has regained some ability to move his eyes, left and right, and in correct response to a specific verbal direction that he look one way or another.  We have so much to be thankful for, and to keep praying for.  It is very late, but I wanted everyone to have this information available before Sunday worship services.  These things have been wonderful to witness today, and I know that it will be exciting news to share.  May God bless you all for your fervent prayer, without which this progress simply could not be happening.

    I too want to thank you for keeping us updated. It has been a blessing to see God at work. When you requested specific prayers for flexion in Mike’s arms and all of us read this morning that he squeezed another’s hand, it causes all of us to give God glory. Prayer is powerful and effective!

    On Wednesday, the Naperville Cental YL Club prayed Romans 12:12. I have it written on a dry erase board in my kitchen to remind me.

    Be JOYFUL in hope.
    PATIENT in affliction,
    FAITHFUL in prayer.

    Thank you all for your ongoing prayers. They have been such a blessing to all of the family. Michelle shared with me last night that her two children suffering from the flu yesterday for the second time in two weeks had put her a bit over the edge. However, when she read your comments on the web site, she was able to return to that place of peace where your prayers have held her and praise God for His loving care. Since I too had experiences a “sudden” onset of cold and cough symptoms, we speculated that Satan is doing whatever he can wherever he can. In that case Michelle said she was able and willing to “take the hit”. As a Grandma I would just ask you to cover McKaela and Eli with specific prayers for their health and protection while continuing to uphold Mike and Michelle. Thanks again. We certainly serve an awesome and powerful and loving God.

    This song has been with a few of us since Mike went into the hospital. God will let all see!! I spoke with Michelle yesterday and she was giddy! She is so excited at the progress in Mike; she told me she felt all jumpy. My heart leaps at this news. It hasn’t even been a week and we are already seeing positive responses! We Praise you God for the work you are doing in Mike, continue to lay your hands on him Lord. Michelle, we are praying for wisdom and strength for you as you remain an amazing mom and wife. We love you all so much!

    Please know there are many prayers being offered for Mike, Michelle and family in Cincinnati. Prayer requests have been circulated throughout St. Maximilian-Kolbe parish in West Chester, OH, and many men and women from Christ Renews His Parish teams are continuously offering prayers. It is blessing to read the progress that is being made and we’ll continue to ask God for his help and ongoing love for Mike, Michelle and family.

    We’re praying for a miracle, Michelle, as we cling to the promise of Romans 8:38-39, that we can never be lost to God’s love, and this powerful statement in Ephesians 1:18-20: “I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead.” This same power is available to us and to Mike.

    This morning in church, the sermon was on “God’s Love” and your family is an example of his inexhaustible love…. For this reason, I kneel before the Father from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. and I pray that you being rooted and established in love, may have the power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ `and to know this love that surpasses knowledge- that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. (Eph.3:14-19)

    We continue to pray that your family feels the fullness and completeness of God’s love.

    We are praying fervently and believing that God heals. We thank God everyday for Mike and Michelle words to us over the years. We love you all so much.

    We pray for strength, for belief, and for the fear to be taken away. God does amazing things. We are in awe with the work that He does in the midst of trying times.

    Know that there are many in VIrginia praying for Michael Zegarski. Michelle, we are thinking of you and McKaela and Eli throughout the day. Thanks for the updates as they give us specifc things to pray for. We love guys.

    Mike & Michelle-
    My stepmom just called me to let me know what happened. I don’t have any other words to say except that I’m thanking God for the wonderful influence you’ve had on so many people, myself included, and that I’m praying for you both, as well as for McKaela and Eli. My friends and fellow Young Life leaders here in Evansville will be praying as well.

    You are in so many peoples thoughts and prayers. God is gracious in His love and compassion for those who are hurting and in need.     You are so dear to each of us and we continue to praise God for you. His Grace and love are surrounding Mike and our prayers are fervant. Please know that we are with you in continuous prayer and have all of our friends from coast to coast lifting you up.

    You have all given and given to each of us and our children. Jon and Jen are who they are and where they are because of the influence and direction of both of you. I don’t know that we’ve ever said Thank you.

    We have been praying for you and your whole family. We have also gotten a lot of other people in this community to be lifting you up in prayer. I just have to say that I am overwhlemed by the beauty of the outpouring of love and payer for Mike and Michelle. It is such a perfect picture of a community and fellowship of believers. It is humbling to me. We have also been blessed to hear of Mike’s improvements and pray they will increase by the day. We have such a mysterious and miraculous God.

    I was encouraged yesterday and today by the small steps of progress that in reality are gigantic leaps from Tues/Wed. I have been taken back from the things that you “can’t explain” since Tuesday… the whole ordeal, prayer, and the grace that exudes Michelle and the Zegarski family. I thank you for your committment to prayer, expecting, and shared community. I’m encouraged every time I go to the hospital to see your confidence.     Mike and Michelle and family-
    Thank you for this web site. It was encouraging to hear the progress that Mike has made and the way that the Lord is sustaining both of you and your family. The Lord is glorifying himself.

    Our service today was based on Psalm 30 and the theme was turning mourning into dancing. And what a privilege it was to praise the Lord for the things He is doing. We sang a well known hymn today but how differently we viewed and sang the words today. May they encourage your soul and lead you to The Sovereign Lord.

    Praise to the Lord the Almighty the King of Creation! O my soul, praise Him for He is my health and salvation. All ye who hear, Now to His temple draw near. Join me in glad adoration!

    Praise to the Lord who o’er all things so wondrously reigneth. Shelters you under His wings, ye so gently sustaineth! Hast thou not seen How thy desires all have been granted in what He ordaineth!

    Praise to the Lord, who doth prosper thy work and defend thee; Surely His goodness and mercy here daily attend thee. Ponder anew what the Almighty can do if with His love He befriends Thee.

    Praise to the Lord, O let all that is in me adore Him! All that hath life and breath come now with praises before Him. Let the amen sound from His people again: Gladly forever adore Him!

    One of our pastors prayed for Mike during the service. It is amazing to read about all the people who are uniting in prayer for all of you. To God be the Glory and may you tangibly feel His healing, helping, sustaining, merciful, loving hand upon you today and in the days to come.

    Mike,
    Your ordeal continues to monopolize our thoughts and prayers. The positive signs that have been reported with increasing frequancy are uplifting. Keep fighting. Although we only touch base a few times a year, a world without this possibility is unthinkable to me. I expect a miracle here. I expect to have our yearly dinner get together at X-mas. I’ll even make you a deal- you beat this thing, and I’ll buy dinner this year at the restaraunt of your choice….Heck, I’ll buy dinner every year….You just get busy with your part of the deal. We love you, and we miss you.

    Keep reminding Mike of all the things he has to fight for…although I’m sure your voice is all the reminder he needs. It is unfair to ask you to stay strong, and probably pointless- The absolute inhuman amount of strength that you need right now can’t come from within- but only through faith. We love you, and i go to bed tonight praying that you are given the strength to fight through this ordeal, while remaining strong for Mike and the children. We love you.

    Hey there, just got word from an email response from the YL office about what has happened and our hearts are sure going out to you all. Michelle, We pray that God will really give you the strength to face each moment and care for your children during this very difficult time.
