Mike has had a positive morning, and we would ask that your prayers be as fervent and as continual as ever.  We believe that Christ is at work in Mike’s body, in response to your prayer.  Mike continues to respond to touch sensations with motion that appears to be purposeful, though inconsistent at this time.  We may also have seen this morning some purposeful response to verbal commands, though we cannot be absolutely sure.  Obviously, we will be with Mike all day and watching him very closely.

Please have faith that your prayer is powerful and effective, and please continue to offer prayer steadfastly.  Truly, we still cannot know what these observations mean, neurologically, for Mike.  We can believe that Mike is making progress, but  please be cautioned against drawing any farther-reaching conclusions from these observations.   Michelle and all of Mike’s family want this site to provide information to encourage everyone in their prayer, and to best equip everyone for that purpose.  And we want you to have important information as quickly as we know that you desire it.  Still, of course, the very last thing that anyone wants is to mislead, or to create false expectations.  Just keep praying.  And God bless you for doing so.

We will try to update again later today — at least once.  Rest assured that the most important news will reach this site as soon as we can get it here.

Michelle told me the other day that we have to praise God for each small victory, so we will do this! Mike is fighting and we will rejoice in the fact that the Lord is allowing him to do so. I am so thankful for the updates, no matter how small. We will continue to pray and anxiously await God’s miracle.

We love all of you Zegarskis. Sending hugs and kisses from far away.

Thank you so very much for this continual update. It is very helpful!

Mke, Michelle, Dan and familiies-Praise God for faithful prayer warriors, around the country AND Dan’s updates. We continue to be in prayer day and night for each of you and Mike’s caregivers. Thank you for providing specific prayer requests. As Mike rests in the loving hands of our Lord and Savior we surround you with great love and persistent prayer. I wanted to share an encouragement to all–when I received the news via e-mail yesterday and went to prayer, a tangible sense of the Holy Spirit came upon me, I think for the purpose of simply making a clear, emphatic statement that God is present and active in the midst of all of this (as we already know, but tangibly so in this instance). We continue to pray from Minnesota. Grace & Peace.

    Michelle & family,

We have been in continuous prayer for you and we trust in the Lord’s sovereign hand on your family. We know that, “all this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thankgiving to overflow to the glory of God. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs tham all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:15-18

    We love you.

Mike’s friends from the University of Dayton and Moeller High School in Cincinnati have been notified of Mike’s condition and the existence of this website. We’ve requested that everyone say the rosary and continue to pray for Mike. Tonight, we lit a candle and held a brief silent vigil for Mike at our church in Chapel Hill, NC. We are pulling for you, Mike, and will continue to pray for you and your family.

    Dear Zegarski Family –

Just a quick note to let you know we are keeping all of you in our prayers and thinking positive thoughts at all times.

Michelle – you know our prayers were answered last year as we witnessed a miracle with “our Mike.” Now it’s “your Mike’s” turn!

Please let us know if we can do anything else in addition to prayer~

    Dear Zegarski family,
Although we have never met, I wanted you all to be assured you are being prayed for by many. (We received word via a prayer request from YL in Atlanta) The Christian circle is quite large! As a nurse, I always pray specifically for the doctors, nurses and others caring for Mike to have wisdom in caring for your loved one. I also know your family has already been a witness to each healthcare provider. As a wife, I will specifically be praying for Michelle, that God will give you strength for each hour. We will continue to lift up Mike and his total healing. Jere 29:11
